The son of a fourth-generation Texan mother and a Greek immigrant father, Alex Triantaphyllis was born and raised in Houston, where he is an active member of the community through the Welcoming Houston initiative,
the City of Houston’s Equitable Economic Development Committee, and the Plan Downtown Steering Committee. He is currently the Director of Immigration and Economic Opportunity at BakerRipley (formerly Neighborhood Centers), Houston’s leading nonprofit community development organization, where he started a small business development program and oversees an immigrant legal services office. Alex is also the founder of PAIR: Partnership for the Advancement & Immersion of Refugees — a nonprofit that provides educational mentorship to refugee youth resettled in the Houston area. Alex attended Rice University for undergrad and Harvard Law
Intern Duties: ● Voter outreach ● Volunteer outreach ● Event staffing ● Social media ● Strategic research, and data entry ● Fundraising and donor appreciation ● Administrative tasks, tech support, and special projects
Qualifications: ● A recent graduate or student interested in politics and gaining campaign experience ● Exhibits passion for politics, government, and/or any related policy areas ● Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills ● Ability to multitask independently, learn quickly, and demonstrate sound judgment ● Exhibits great attention to detail, punctuality, respect, and initiative ● Ability to work and contribute in a highly collaborative, team environment
